OUR STORY
The craft cooperative
Alwan was born of a marriage between East and West.
Nehza Bentaibi and Elisabeth de la Poype began working together in 2006.
They joined forces to create the cooperative in Tamesloht, a village 18 km from Marrakech in Morocco.
Nehza, Elisabeth, Fatiha, Rachid... have imagined a magnificent collection with European cuts and Moroccan hand-embroidered details. The cooperative gives work to village women, enabling them to become self-sufficient and independent. We also create all your made-to-measure orders if you come and visit us at the workshop.
Craftsmanship, love of work, authenticity and generosity: these are Alwan’s values.

The village of Tamesloht
Tamesloht, a true place of creativity and craftsmanship, is located 20 minutes from Marrakech on the Amizmiz road, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.
In recent years, Tamesloht has seen cooperatives and workshops appear, for traditional weaving, wrought-iron work, porcelain painting, pottery and woodworking. Alwan has been able to develop on this superb showcase for Moroccan craftsmanship.
Don’t hesitate to come and visit these craftsmen, who will be delighted to share their art with you, opening the doors of their workshops.
